Clare LaTorre

Clare LaTorre manages marketing, communications, and training for Wayne State University Computing & Information Technology (C&IT), the Detroit research university's central IT.
She earned a graduate certificate in risk and crisis communication (2024) and her master's in public relations and organizational communication (2020) while at Wayne State. She also studied at Oakland University (2013) and has professional experience in journalism, social media management, web content creation, copy editing, digital and print design, customer support and de-escalation, executive communication, knowledge documentation, and more.
When not supporting students, faculty, and staff, Clare volunteers her time and skills to Animal House of South East Michigan 501 (c)3, practices yin yoga, and paints.

We are aware of a growing security concern involving accounts becoming compromised because users approve multi-factor authentication (MFA) prompts that they did not initiate. MFA is designed to keep our accounts secure even if our password becomes compromised—but it only works if we remain diligent in reviewing all of the phone calls, text messages, and push notifications we receive asking for our approval before we respond to them.
